I was a writer for the Fallout 2 total conversion Mutants Rising back in my youthful days. I can still be found lurking their forums from time to time. I'll never forget that ragged team or the mod they'll hopefully be releasing before I die!
I strongly encourage anybody who's particularly fond of Fallout 2 to follow the mod's progress and play it at release. If you want to take it a step further and feel you can contribute to the project, head over to the forums and post about it!
I feel like a damned fool for returning to Vault-Tec Labs after an extended hiatus from the modding community. I can't seem to keep my old bones away from this place, no matter what I do!
I still foster a lot of affection for the classic Fallout games, so much so that I can't help but dust off the archives every so often. My weathered goal is to preserve any and all information about modding Fallout 1 and 2 to the best of my ability for all future generations that may stumble upon this place.
I fully realize that following its implementation, the Custom Art Repository had a few inhibiting factors: its visual layout and the non-streamlined process for uploading art. The latter is mostly caused by wiki software limitations, for which user-friendly functionality could be created by way of a unique upload form. That to my knowledge would be no easy feat to accomplish, though I may investigate further.
The actual layout of the repository itself could definitely be redesigned in a much more user-friendly way. I am always seeking input from anyone who would consider adding more content to our wikia. Regardless, I'll tweak what I can in order for the presentation to complement the art.
In my spare time I've been refreshing my knowledge of C and writing a cross-platformWindows-based FRM Viewer program. The hope is that I'll eventually implement functionality for editing FRM files as well.
Don't hesitate to contribute to our humble wiki, friend. A little kindness goes a long way!
